I know they existed. I know it was a factory option in some cases, but most currently yellow 944's appear to have been resprayed at some point.
Any 944 experts care to educate me? Also can you find one in your area?

I’m kind of partial to Speed Yellow 968s, but I don’t know if that’s the same name of the color on the 944.
I miss my 968...

Daaaamn. That’s nice. Factory color? How does the 968 compare to a 944 in your opinion?

I don’t know if Speed Yellow was available in the US, but yes, it was a factory color.
I never had a chance to drive a 944 (or a 924 for that matter), so I can’t really make a comparison between them. I absolutely loved the torquey nature of that 3.0l engine, but unlike the I6 in the E34, there was a bit of discrepancy in sound vs. feel in the engine in the Porsche. Yes, it was probably as smooth as the BMW, but it sounded like a big four, which, of course, it was. It took a while to get used to the 6-speed transmission - I was so used to 5-speeds, so I kept forgetting that there was a 6th gear. Lovely car - so capable yet refined. A bit austere inside, but it’s a sports car, not a luxury sedan, and that’s just fine. I even transported 4 people in it for a stint, although my forehead felt like it was against the top of the windshield and I had to reach back to shift, but we pulled it off. I’d guess that it would feel like a more powerful, torquier 944. like an S2 with a little extra.
